2016 One Acts

This year's one act plays preview and festival are a little later than usual; they're in late April instead of mid-March.

The festival is being held for the first time in Canmore. If you were looking for an excuse to head to the mountains, this could be it! We don't have the detailed schedule for the festival yet (as of March 3rd), but when we get it, it will be posted here.

Rehearsals in Progress

Rehearsals are already in progress for our next show, The 39 Steps, which promises to be a side-splitter. Director Tracy Wyman is amping up the already hilarious script with tons of ideas for ensuring the audience will leave the theatre with their laughing gear hurting! Click the link in the spotlight above for more details.

Cinderella a Runaway Success!

The run may be finished, but people are still talking about it.
We exceeded 1000 bums on seats, which means that Cinderella moves into second place behind Calendar Girls. Clearly pantomime is still popular, and this encourages Dewdney Players to think about the next one.

To everyone who came out - thank you! To our little Cinderella dress-ups - thank you! Te everyone who said such nice things - thank you!

Calendar Girls - did you miss it?

The show's finished and everyone's bathing in the warm afterglow of an outrageously successful production. Eight performances - six sellouts - eight standing ovations - thousands raised for the hospice - what more could we ask for? (Be quiet in the corner!)

Calendar Girls a Success as a Fundraiser, Too!

As part of our production of "Calendar Girls" we have been selling 2016 calendars featuring Chris, Annie, Celia, Ruth, Cora and Jessie. Click here for purchasing information.

Sales have been phenomenal, and to date have raised around $4,300 for the Foothills Country Hospice.

As an additional fundraiser, we have been raffling victoria sponges off each night (sponges have been provided by Lady C. herself, alias Jane H.) We don't have numbers yet, but a rumour floated around that at the Oct 17th evening performance, the sponge raffle raised nearly $100.00!

Thank you to everyone who has generously supported the Foothills Country Hospice through the calendar and victoria sponge fundraisers.
